ChallengeME! Is an Internet of Things – IoT competition for the Middle East and North Africa – MENA that is being organized by Intel Corporation for the first time in the region in collaboration with prestigious educational institutions and non-profit entrepreneurship organizations across the Middle East and North Africa. The competition aims to recognize and support talented individuals who are building various elements for the Internet of Things and will identify pioneering new ideas, innovations and solutions in that area with great business potential.
The challenge is open to all IoT enthusiasts who can provide a prototype about their innovation and have a scalable business model. The competition will shortlist top 15 outstanding projects, thru a jury of experts from Intel and the business community, who will be invited to travel to Beirut in November 2015 and participate in extensive face to face training, and pitching to win over $15,000 in cash prizes and many other awards. And an opportunity to fly two teams to the UK to attend the Intel Innovation Summit.

How to organize a student and young professionals congress?
This document is a guide on how to organize an IEEE Student and Young Professional Congress. It has been prepared by the Student Activities Committee and the Young Professionals Subcommittee in Region 8 for 2014. The content of this guide covers from the moment the Call for applications is released until the period after the congress when everything has to be finalized.

It is our great pleasure to announce the winners of the Region 8 Young Professionals Exceptional Volunteer Award 2014! Despite the difficulties in choosing due to the impressive quality of the many nominations we have received, three candidates were selected to be presented with this year’s award: Ivana Stupar (Croatia Section), Pavlos Kleanthous (Cyprus Section) and Amgad Ibrahim (Egypt Section). Additionally, two special distinctions will be awarded to the runner-ups: David Oyedokun (South Africa Section) and Sofia Gomes (Portugal Section). The Region 8 Young Professionals Subcommittee would like to warmly congratulate the winners, as well as the runner-up candidates and the rest of the nominees, and wish you the very best in your future work! The quality of the nominations has impressed us deeply, and the continuous dedication, skills and hard work of the awarded volunteers is a source of inspiration and motivation for us all to keep on improving. We trust you will continue having a positive impact in the IEEE community and we look forward to seeing your future achievements!

It is a fourth consecutive year that the YP Affinity Group from Region 8 is awarded with HoF Award!
The Region 8 Young Professionals Subcommittee is proud to announce the winner of the Region 8 Outstanding Young Professionals Affinity Group Award for its activities during 2013: this year, the Award goes to Nigeria!
The Nigeria Young Professionals Affinity Group has been working harder every year and now they have reached an outstanding level. Their high quality activities, together with their continued efforts to motivate volunteers and inspire IEEE YP members, make them deservedly win this Award. Congratulations Nigeria!
It is always a hard decision due to the great quality of the YP Affinity Groups in Region 8. We wish this encourages not only the Nigerian AG, but also all the other AGs to keep up pursuing the amazing work, the high motivation and the valuable contributions to IEEE, since those are always the key factors to win this Award.
